Kitchen Remodel – Rancho Peñasquitos, CA
This client wanted to revamp their kitchen and entry / living area from a ‘90s-suburban house to an up-to-date and to-their-taste home. Their style leans towards transitional farmhouse with a subtle touch of glam. We wanted to place emphasis on the beautiful high vaulted ceiling and unify the split level between the living area and the kitchen. We focused on maximizing the space in an aesthetically pleasing way, giving them plenty of storage and taking advantage of the large windows in the kitchen, building out window seats to create two nooks, and creating a wine storage and display spot for both function and to serve as a small decorative detail. Keeping true to the farmhouse feel, we gave it some moody contrast with some white and neutral tones, contrasted with black, emphasizing the warm dark wood repeated throughout the home.
